Role Overview

We’re Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, a leader in the construction and maintenance of airport and military infrastructure worldwide. As a SHEQ Coordinator, you’ll work with you SHEQ colleagues to support health and safety, and environmental efforts across our projects. You impact will ensure that we continue to drive a safe and sustainable culture and strategy, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, whilst promoting a strong culture of sustainability. Working closely with the SHEQ Manager you will provide support on health, safety, and environmental matters, ensuring that the projects adhere to our policies and industry standards.
With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries we are the specialists in the delivery of airside and landside aviation projects for the Military and Civil Aviation Sectors. We operate across all major airports in the UK and Ireland, including logistically challenging regional airports such as those in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and the Channel Islands. Globally, we have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.
We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.
What you’ll do
In this role we’ll provide you with the support you need to develop your full potential for an exciting and rewarding career with us. The focus of your role will include supporting and assisting the SHEQ Manager in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of an overarching health, safety, and environmental strategy. You’ll also work towards supporting the implementation of SHEQ policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant ISO standards.
This opportunity will also involve you co-ordinating and report writing on-site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to highlight risks and make improvements to ensure compliance as well as maintaining and updating incident reporting systems, assisting with investigations and corrective actions. You’ll collate and analyse SHEQ performance data, producing reports for management review and support the delivery of SHEQ training and awareness initiatives across the business. As with all roles at Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure you’ll work closely with teams to promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and quality excellence.
The role location is flexible and can be either home or site based with occasional travel to other project sites.
What you’ll bring
Experience in a SHEQ role within construction, engineering, or a related industry
Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations
Demonstrable organisational and analytical skills, with an eye for detail
The ability to conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments confidently
Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to engage teams and promote best practices.
Experience of writing policies and procedures, protocols, reports, standards and risk assessments
Right to Work and live in the UK. There may be opportunities to work overseas too.
In addition, you will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of effective and ongoing communication through supporting project health and safety activities as appropriate and acting as a role model for other colleagues internally (and where appropriate, externally) providing support as necessary.
