DEFENCE

Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure have a long-standing relationship with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) having delivered a range of diverse projects throughout the United Kingdom and overseas.

Our first airfield project was at RAF Leuchars, since when we have undertaken runway resurfacing at RAF bases like Northolt, Coningsby, Gibraltar and Akrotiri (Cyprus). At RAF Marham, in joint venture with Galliford Try, we delivered the first project in the UK to have high temperature resistant concrete landing pads suitable for the take-off and landing of F35 Lightning stealth aircraft.

Along with the MOD, we’ve also supported the United States Visiting Forces in the UK, including the fast track runway resurfacing project, delivered in 12 weeks due to USAF operational requirements, at USAF Lakenheath and taxiway upgrades at RAF Fairford.

In 2022 we were one of two contractors appointed on to the DIO’s 5-year £400m Airfield Operating Surfaces Framework, followed soon after by being selected as a delivery partner to support the UK Armed Forces at overseas MOD bases. Under the five-year, £560 million Overseas Capital Framework contract, Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure will be actively involved in a variety of significant infrastructure improvement projects. These projects encompass housing, diplomatic offices, runways, and airfields situated in various overseas locations, including Cyprus, Gibraltar, South Atlantic Islands, Kenya, Singapore, Belize, Norway, and throughout the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) Overseas Estate.
