Role Overview
Are you a Senior Environmental Manager looking to build your experience in an exciting and diverse business? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you! We’re Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, a leader in the construction and maintenance of airport and military infrastructure worldwide. As a Senior Environmental Manager you’ll work to determine the environmental and social deliverables of DIO and civil projects, and ensuring their integration into pre-contract, design, planning, construction, commissioning and hand back arrangements. You’ll also work to develop and maintain environmental and social management plans, and other supporting documentation, ensuring their effective briefing and cascade of controls through project documentation.
With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries we are the specialists in the delivery of airside and landside aviation projects for the Military and Civil Aviation Sectors. We operate across all major airports in the UK and Ireland, including logistically challenging regional airports such as those in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and the Channel Islands. Globally, we have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.
We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.
What you’ll do
As an experienced Senior Environmental Manager, we’ll support you to develop a rewarding career with us. In this role your responsibilities will include supporting and assisting the Head of HSE in ensuring that all environmental and social deliverables are effectively integrated across all stages of (Defence Infrastructure Organisation) DIO and civilian/commercial construction projects — from pre-contract through to design, delivery, commissioning, and handover.
You’ll also combine your strategic environmental leadership with hands-on project support, driving compliance, sustainability, and social value outcomes across our major projects.
This is a key role for a driven environmental professional who is passionate about sustainability, compliance, and delivering measurable environmental and social value on major infrastructure projects.
The role can be based at anyone of our project sites and may require some overseas working.
What you’ll bring
Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent)
Be a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working towards full membership of IEMA
Right to work and live in the UK. There may be further opportunities to work overseas.
In addition, you’ll have proven experience in an environmental management role on major construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within aviation, as well as a comprehensive understanding of UK environmental legislation, consents, and regulatory compliance processes. Your additional experience should include developing and implementing environmental and social value plans, including biodiversity, noise and vibration, carbon, waste, and pollution prevention measures
How we’ll reward you
Of course, we ensure that our benefits package is competitive and allows you to enjoy your downtime. As well as a competitive salary we’ll provide a wide selection of lifestyle offers, development and learning programmes, services and support designed to help you manage and balance your work/life priorities.
