Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer who’s looking to build their experience in an exciting and diverse business. We’re Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, a leader in the construction and maintenance of airport and military infrastructure worldwide. As a Senior Engineer on our Jamaica Accelerated Bridges Project, you’ll ensure technical excellence and constructability of bridge works across Jamaica. You’ll also ensure the engineering team are carrying out their duties in accordance with roles and responsibilities allocated to them as well as overseeing all necessary engineering equipment is in place and maintained as required.

You will take full ownership of site operations, demonstrating resourcefulness, adaptability, and proactive leadership to overcome challenges such as remote access, tropical weather, and supply chain constraints.
With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries we operate in logistically challenging environments. We have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.

We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.

What you’ll do

As an experienced Senior Engineer, we’ll support you to develop a rewarding career with us. The focus of your role will be to oversee and support the engineering function on various country-wide live construction sites. The opportunity focuses on ensuring engineering and design specifications are correctly implemented, with close attention to quality, buildability, and the use of materials that meet both industry and client standards. Operating within a technical and detail‑driven environment, you will provide structure, consistency, and professional oversight across all engineering activities.

You will also be involved in close collaboration with site engineers, construction teams, contractors, subcontractors, and wider project stakeholders. Responsibilities span reviewing designs for constructability, maintaining engineering accuracy in line and level, supporting programme coordination, and ensuring compliance with specifications and quality requirements. The Senior Engineer will also contribute to planning activities, manage engineering records and NCRs, and support material and resource coordination, ensuring engineering delivery is efficient, compliant, and well‑integrated with the wider project.

The role is based in Jamaica.

What you’ll bring

• A degree in Construction, Civil Engineering or related subject with at least 5 years of experience in a civil engineering role

• Working towards professional membership of an appropriate organisation e.g. ICE or CIOB (desirable)

• A desire to deliver and exceed client expectations through challenge and problem solving

• Ability to successfully implement, maintain and ensure compliance of Health & Safety legislation

• Commercially aware of economies and efficiencies

  In addition, you will be able to demonstrate considerable experience of ensuring the accurate preparation and organisation of programmes of work activities as well as being commercially aware of economies and efficiencies that can be realised. As a senior manager you should be able to evidence leadership and management skills to enable colleagues to deliver a project and reach their potential.
