Role Overview

We’re Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, a leader in the construction and maintenance of airport and military infrastructure worldwide. As a Senior Site Engineer you’ll be responsible for line, level & quality of the works in accordance with approved design and specification. You’ll also ensure the engineering team are carrying out their duties in accordance with roles and responsibilities allocated to them and guarantee all necessary engineering equipment is in place and maintained as required.

With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries we are the specialists in the delivery of airside and landside aviation projects for the Military and Civil Aviation Sectors. We operate across all major airports in the UK and Ireland, including logistically challenging regional airports such as those in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and the Channel Islands. Globally, we have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.

We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.

What you’ll do

As an experienced Senior Engineer, we’ll support you to develop a rewarding career with us. The focus of your role will be overseeing the delivery of projects and setting standards to facilitate high performing teams as well as ensuring management plans, documentation and contract specific requirements are produced in line with the project requirements.  You will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and associated compliance and potentially undertaking to manage and resolve contractual issues as necessary.

You’ll also be expected to manage and deliver compliance with Health & Safety regulations ensuring that all issues are monitored regularly, and accurate records maintained. As a manager you can expect to supervise and support other Engineers with the associated setting-out activities for accuracy and compliance which will involve the production and communication of project reports.  As you will be working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders maintaining good external relationships will be a key strength. 

The role is initially based at Edinburgh Airport..

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in Construction, Civil Engineering or related subject with at least 5 years of experience in a civil engineering role

  • A desire to deliver and exceed client expectations through challenge and problem solving

  • Experience of using AutoCAD or other equivalent software, assimilating design outputs and ensuring the works are set out correctly

  • Right to Work and live in the UK. There may be further opportunities to work overseas.

    In addition, you will be able to demonstrate considerable experience of ensuring the accurate preparation and organisation of programmes of work activities as well as being commercially aware of economies and efficiencies that can be realised. As a senior manager you should be able to evidence leadership and management skills to enable colleagues to deliver a project and reach their potential.
