Role Overview
Are you a Planner or Planning Engineer looking to build your experience in an exciting and diverse business? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you! We’re Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure, a leader in the construction and maintenance of airport and military infrastructure worldwide. In this role you’ll utilise your understanding of construction planning and building projects, along with proven stakeholder management to ensure projects are monitored, progress is reported, and programmes are regularly updated and, where appropriate providing support and advice as necessary to ensure there is proactive implementation of the programme of works.
With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries we are the specialists in the delivery of airside and landside aviation projects for the Military and Civil Aviation Sectors. We operate across all major airports in the UK and Ireland, including logistically challenging regional airports such as those in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and the Channel Islands. Globally, we have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.
We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.
What you’ll do
As our Planner/Planning Engineer, we’ll support you to develop a rewarding career with us. The focus of your role will include playing a key part in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects. The role will be responsible for developing and managing project schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation, monitoring progress and supporting the delivery of complex developments.
You’ll also be expected to have experience of project planning and scheduling, risk and resource management, including identifying and analysing potential schedule risks and delays, proposing mitigation strategies, stakeholder communication and reporting in that you are able to provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders and support client and contractor engagement by presenting schedule forecasts, risks, and progress reports.
In this role you’ll play a critical part in driving compliance and best practices by ensuring project planning aligns with industry standards, regulations, and best practices, implementing and maintaining planning processes, templates, and reporting mechanisms to improve efficiency and supporting the adoption of digital planning tools and data-driven decision-making. The role reports to the Project Director.
The role is based at the Lagan Iacovou Construction JV site at Dhekelia Barracks in Cyprus and so candidates will need to have Right to Work in this location. Additionally, candidates must pass a security clearance and background check prior to commencement.
What you’ll bring
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent experience in a related field
Professional certification in Project Planning or Scheduling (e.g., APM, PMI-SP, PRINCE2) (desirable)
Proficient in English – spoken and written (essential)
Proven experience in planning/scheduling infrastructure, construction, or civil engineering projects
Demonstrable ability to analyse complex project data and provide clear, actionable insights
Understanding of critical path analysis, earned value management, and risk assessment techniques
Experience of working on major construction projects, nationally and internationally (desirable)
Right to Work and live in Cyprus. Willingness to travel and work away from home
