Role Overview

As a senior quantity surveyor, you’ll be responsible include managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost control and value for money.
With over 30 years of experience in over twenty countries we are the specialists in the delivery of airside and landside aviation projects for the Military and Civil Aviation Sectors. We operate across all major airports in the UK and Ireland, including logistically challenging regional airports such as those in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland and the Channel Islands. Globally, we have successfully delivered projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.
We’re also a key delivery partner to the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), providing support to the UK Armed Forces at Ministry of Defence (MOD) bases throughout the UK and overseas.
What you’ll do
In this role you will efficiently and effectively provide expert advice on project lifecycle costing, cost planning, procurement, tendering, contract administration and overall commercial management. This proactive role will also involve team management responsibilities, managing subcontractors and dealing with multiple specialists.
As the Senior QS you will provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the commercial lead in the team and will also precisely and carefully estimate and cost work from conception through to completion including calculating material needs and mapping out the project timelines and tracking project progress whilst ensuring each project meets all the legal and quality requirements and adheres to contractual obligations.
Additionally, you’ll ensure the project and programme contract, cost, quality and time targets are met as well as ensuring prompt and regular submission of main contract payment applications and that subcontractor payments are dealt with fairly and in accordance with subcontract terms and applicable law.
The role is based on site at Dublin Airport, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on other projects as necessary.
What you’ll bring
A degree in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline)
Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB.
Previous experience of working in a civils/infrastructure project as a quantity surveyor
Experience of working in commercial management teams in major complex infrastructure projects and programmes to deliver value for money for the Client/Employer
Experience of planning, developing and implementing high value and complex contracts and of working closely with procurement teams in tender preparation, administration and evaluation
In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying principles, construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), and procurement strategies.
Experience of working on aviation infrastructure and/or major construction projects, nationally and internationally (desirable)
Willingness to travel and work away from home as required
Right to Work and live in the UK. There may be opportunities to work overseas too.
In addition, you will be able to demonstrable knowledge of and experience of delivering commercial solutions for complex civil engineering projects of high value through first-hand experience, supported by your commercial acumen. You’ll also be skilled in monitoring construction progress and managing the project within budget and time constraints with an awareness of disputes resolution including options, structure, techniques, experts etc.
